    Frequently
    Asked Questions
What should I do if I had in-progress testing at Greenleaf Labs?

You may create a new sample and send it to a different lab for testing. Once testing is complete, open a ticket with Metrc, which will coordinate with OMMA to update the testing status.

What if my products tested at Greenleaf are already on the market?

OMMA advises removing affected products from inventory now if they were tested for Total Yeast and Mold by Greenleaf during the affected timeframe.

    Can OKCTL retest my products?

Yes. We are accepting new clients affected by this situation.

How fast can I get results?

Turnaround time depends on current volume and test type. Our standard turnaround time is 3–5 business days. We will not cut corners, but our expanded team is working extended hours to process samples quickly without compromising accuracy.

Do I need to retest all my products from Greenleaf Labs?

Not necessarily — OMMA is still identifying which products are affected. However, proactively retesting can be an act of good faith toward both OMMA and your customers. Even if your product is not ultimately flagged, showing that you’ve taken steps to ensure safety and accuracy can help maintain or rebuild patient trust and protect your brand’s reputation in a competitive market.

Will OMMA or Greenleaf pay for my retesting?

Historically, the answer has been no — licensees are typically responsible for the cost of retesting. This aligns with OMMA’s recall procedures, which generally place the burden of retesting and compliance on the licensee. While OMMA has not announced any reimbursement for this situation, we recommend planning for the cost of retesting now so you can act quickly if your products are affected.

How do I start retesting with OKCTL?

Call us at 918-872-7015 to set up onboarding. The fastest way is to drop your samples at our lab; pickup may be available if drop-off is not possible.

My test status was set to Test Failed, what do I do?

For products that are in test failed status for microbials at Greenleaf, you are allowed to retest per OMMA Rules (omma.ok.gov/rules). You will be required to have two full-panel passing results to over-turn the failure. Alternatively, you can waste the product.

    How many products were impacted?

So far, approximately 19,000 total packages were impacted – however this number may change as the formal recall or embargo is placed.

What did Greenleaf Labs do wrong?

OMMA has stated that during a routine compliance inspection, inspectors identified a concern requiring further scrutiny and analysis, specifically related to Total Yeast and Mold testing. Due to the immediate risk to public health and safety, OMMA suspended Greenleaf Labs’ license on an emergency basis.

    What time period is affected?

OMMA says the potential issue applies to products tested by Greenleaf Labs for Total Yeast and Mold between April 2023 and July 31, 2025.

    What products are impacted?

OMMA is still identifying the specific products that were improperly tested. Overnight on August 13, approximately 19,000 samples tested by Greenleaf were changed from “test passed” to “test failed” in Metrc.

How will I know which products to remove?

OMMA will release more details once their analysis is complete. In the meantime, products may already show a “test failed” status in Metrc.

Where do I find more information on embargoes or recalls?

You can find official recall or embargo notices on OMMA’s website. We recommend checking this page daily for updates related to Greenleaf Labs’ testing.

Greenleaf Labs Ordered to Cease Operations Following Product Safety Concerns

On August 8th, 2025, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) announced the emergency suspension of Greenleaf Labs’ license following a routine inspection that identified concerns with their yeast and mold testing procedures.

OMMA stated that products tested by Greenleaf Labs between April 2023 and July 31, 2025 may be contaminated and are currently reviewing which products are affected.

OMMA has not yet announced whether a product recall or quarantine will occur, but has indicated an “immediate risk to public health.

    August 13th Update from OMMA

Overnight, approximately 19,000 samples tested by Greenleaf Labs were changed from “test passed” to “test failed” status in Metrc due to erroneous Total Yeast and Mold testing.
Action Needed: As OMMA conducts package tracing to institute a formal embargo and recall, dispensaries will notice packages changed to test failed status in their inventory and can get a head start by removing those products from their inventory now.
Communicating the information we have as soon as we have it is OMMA’s first priority at this time.
If you are a business that has lab samples in submitted status or testing in progress at Greenleaf, you may create a new sample and send it to a different lab for testing. When the testing is complete, open a ticket with Metrc. Metrc will be in contact with OMMA to update the testing status.
For products that are in test failed status for microbials at Greenleaf, you are allowed to retest per OMMA Rules (omma.ok.gov/rules).
